Kaki - 柿
Persimmon is the national fruit of Japan. It grows in the countryside on the edge of fields, during the fall.
Consumed in salads, desserts or even in pastry, persimmon is soft and sweet. It is even possible to find persimmon fruit pastes and drinks !
They are also dried to be stored and eaten later (especially during the holidays), or to be used as decoration in shop windows.
